Job advert in the US....oh my god!

I'm off to the US next month for the annual SugarCRM User Group meeting, SugarCON, which is being held in San Francisco.  It's a business/pleasure trip, so yes, I will be playing some golf and I'm also going to try and look up some old colleagues from when I worked at CompuServe.

Anyway, whilst looking up one old colleague I was looking at the website of the company where he works, and noticed a job vacancy....not one I'm interested in your understand, but always like to see how people advertise jobs in other countries.

As I was reading the job vacancy I had an "Oh my god!" moment and had to read the following out loud to my wife :-

"PHYSICAL DEMANDS: While performing the duties of the job, the employee is regularly required to use hands and arms and talk or hear. The employee requires dexterity in using telephone, computer keyboard, mouse and calculator while seated at a desk. The employee is frequently required to stand, walk and sit. The employee may frequently move to interact with fellow employees and/or clients. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus."

Does anyone know if US companies are forced to do this due to discrimination legislation, or what?
