I missed last week, but for the previous six have been writing up my reflections each week on managing a business during the current global pandemic.
The other write-ups are on LinkedIn.
MONDAY
Had a great call with a law firm we spoke to back in 2016 regarding a new website and some online marketing. Great to see a firm still wanting to be proactive during these strange times.
TUESDAY
Listened in to a pretty good PM Forum webinar on personal branding and using LinkedIn. Even got a couple of reminders on things I do not do so much any more.
Fabulous call with a client regarding their website and how it could be working a bit harder for them.
Finished the day with the usual weekly Club Tropiconscious virtual drinks via Zoom. At least this week no-one took their shirt off (you had to be there last week for that to make any sense!).
WEDNESDAY
Had the 3rd call with Jamie Pennington which he kindly paid for as part of the #keepthecashmoving movement.
Spent a really productive 90mins this afternoon on virtual workshop working on our brand. It was run by Sapna Pieroux who has a really methodical approach to thinking about brands and what they mean. Her DO-SAY-SEE model is really powerful.
And end of day call with a prospect regarding a brand new website went pretty well. It’s going to be a fairly steep investment for this new business, but the income/matter due to the type of work is pretty significant so might well pay off in the medium term.
THURSDAY
Today was exhausting. Team call. Lockdown CX webinar with Clare Fanner and others. Weekly Zoom call with our clients then straight into an agency owners call for an hour. Then straight onto a prospect call with one of my team. By the time it got to the Legal Supplier Alliance call at 4pm, run by David Sparkes, I was running on fumes.
But, a bit of evening relaxation in the Legal Support Network pub quiz was a nice start to the Bank Holiday weekend.

There's a pattern here! No, not just the same things every day, but that Bank Holiday weekends are not agreeing with me. I can cope with Saturdays and Sundays doing low-level work to support the business, but stretching it to three days when I cannot really DO anything is REALLY starting to annoy me. When I look back, I think I felt the same over the Easter weekend.
And before anyone tells me to go and read a book. I can do that when this is all over!
Still, only one more Bank Holiday to go at the end of the month and hopefully by the time August comes around we will be more fully out of lockdown!
At least I might be able to go and play golf next weekend!
