Last night I attended my first ever Bristol Content Group meeting/seminar/workshop. Not exactly sure how to describe other than being a GREAT bunch of people learning some EXCELLENT stuff from two BRILLIANT speakers.
The official title was "Selling with Content - how to use content to win more business".
And the "meet up" as the organisers (@ValuableContent) call it was described as "taking a deep dive into the world of selling via content".
The two speakers were excellent as I've said already, but accomplished speakers, trainers and consultants in their own right, was it ever going to be anything else. They were :-
- Bryony Thomas (@BryonyThomas author of Watertight Marketing)
- Trevor Lever (@RealTrevorLever sales trainer committed to uncovering the secrets to sales effectiveness)
Their remit was to lead a lively discussion (which happened) on how to create and use great content to drive business results, at every step of the buying journey.
Whilst it was described that both speakers came from opposite sides of the business development fence (I'm actually not sure that's true) they both really do share a common belief that getting sales and marketing working together is the only way to secure long term results.
Feel free to download my A4 PDF or native Xmind mindmap of my notes.
And, more importantly keep your diary free for 3 July when world renowned content marketing speaker Doug Kessler will be inspiring us all with ideas for creating confident, stand out content. This is likely to be held at the @Bristol Planetarium and there will be the option of making a donation to help cover costs.
