Last Friday we attended this great event held at The Celtic Manor Resort, Newport.
The annual National Local Law Society was this year hosted by Monmouthshire’s Incorporated Law Society. The conference opened with a welcome from Wales’ first minister Carwyn Jones, followed by an array of guest speakers, case studies and interactive workshops, along with questions to a panel of speakers within the industry. The event welcomes Local Law societies to come along for the day, to share experiences through case studies, along with guest speakers, including me!
I was on a panel with John Hyde (@JohnHyde1982) from The Law Gazette and Jessica Morden MP for Newport East (@JessicaMordenMP)
There was also a few surprises throughout the day including a great performance from Sing With Us, the Tenovus Cancer Care choir. That I will confess brought a tear to my eye.
That evening, the Monmouthshire Law Society Summer Ball took place and provided an opportunity for delegates to unwind and continue to soak up the atmosphere throughout the event. There was an early start on the golfing green for me the following morning, but I am never one to shy away from a few drinks and what an evening it was! There were over 300 attendees in the room.
Great venue, hospitality and most of all an engaging conference throughout, hats of to the Monmouthshire Law Society and Sarah Williams-Martin in particular for all the organisation!
