Now that the dust has settled after an exceptionally busy and highly productive couple of days last week at the Legalex show I thought I’d share some of my personal highlights with you.
If you attended any of our workshops then you can download all the presentations from the links at the bottom of this blog post.
Highlight #1 - Different always wins
The smoothie bike (watch a video) on the Conscious stand proved to be a real hit, we actually had people queuing to have their turn on the Smoothie bike. Word of the bike spread on Twitter and across the hall as delegates and exhibitors from Accountex came to see what all the fuss was about.
The bike acted as a strong visual draw to our stand and it was a great way to strike up a conversation. Most people choose to drink their smoothie at the stand after putting in the hard yards on the bike which afforded us the opportunity to engage in some truly meaningful conversations.
A few questioned the connection between the bike and our services and to those our response was incredibly straightforward – there is absolutely no connection. Unlike other exhibition giveaways our smoothies seemed to offer the incentive for our target audience to stick around and engage with us, maybe above all though the bike and the smoothies were just a bit of fun! Have a look at the bike in its full glory here.
It all goes to confirm what I believe to be a real fundamental in marketing;
different always wins.
Highlight #2 - Life is like a box of chocolates...You never know what your going to get
We meet a huge number of delegates from law firms of all sizes and also a number of individuals from other industries over the course of the show. It was also thoroughly enjoyable to meet some of the other exhibitors and discuss their businesses.
Highlight #3 - Social media is no longer an afterthought for Law firms
Social Media is now one of THE biggest priorities for law firms to address. Our Conscious Marketing theatre was busy throughout the show, none more so than during the Social media for law firms presentation delivered by our very own Rich Dibbins. We could have packed out two theatres given the apparent insatiable demand at the show for all things social media.
All in all supporting and exhibiting at Legalex was a thoroughly enjoyable experience and hopefully it proves to be a fruitful one. We came away from the show with healthy stacks of business cards and having learnt a thing or two from the many excellent speakers (Dan Fallon - Search Star, Peter Rosenwald – Chartered Developments, Sally Calverley – Richmonte Wells & Simon White that presented in our theatre over the course of the show.
The organisers of Legalex (Prsysm Group) have already earmarked the 14-15 May for next year’s show and we look forward to being a part of it all again next year.
