We had a great day at the LawNet annual conference on Friday.
There were great presentations from Nick Jarrett-Kerr who also covered for the very sick (bed ridden in fact) George Bull of Baker Tilly.
The day's interaction was definitely helped with the use of an audience voting system from IML. You know the kind of thing. Each delegate gets an electronic unit and can respond in real time to questions being posed from the stage or as part of a presentation. It worked really well.
In the afternoon we ran a social media workshop as one of the choices for delegates. There was a panel/Q&A sessions with all the workshop leaders to round off the day.
The highlight for me was the awards dinner in the evening as I'm pleased to say two of our clients won awards.
LawNet Law Firm of the Year - Buckles Solicitors LLP. With whom we have worked for almost two years are on of the largest solicitors in Peterborough. Great to see Colleen Gostick (Managing Partner), James Maxey (Partner) and Duncan Jackson (Partner) collect the award. The new mobile site for Buckles just went live a few weeks ago. Check it out on your smart phone at http://buckles-law.mobi
LawNet Firm Website of the Year - Clarkson Wright & Jakes. CWJ, who are solicitors in Orpington, have been clients for over five years and are on their third website with us. Great to see such a long time client winning awards for doing the right things with their website. The award was collected by Amanda Mehlin (Partner) and Andrew Grosvenor (Marketing Manager). This is what the judges said about their award submission :-
"After much debate the winning entry has gone to a website that has undergone a complete overhaul in the last year resulting in an impressive increase in traffic.
Their search engine positioning on Google for a range of relevant search phrases is consistently high; the site is clear, easy to navigate and maximises the opportunity to use social media and networking to keep in touch with their clients whilst also improving their search engine optimisation. The site also brings added value for existing clients, by hosting webinars on key topics."
