I had a lovely experience yesterday. A few weeks ago I spoke at a seminar for LawGroup in Manchester. Whilst there I met Sue Sutcliffe from Myers Lister Price in Altrincham.
After the seminar I followed up with an email to which Sue replied asking for some advice on marketing their website. I kindly offered to stop by and give her some ideas next time I was passing. So yesterday whilst I was up in the north west for the day I stopped by. It had to be 1pm and here's the point of the story. Sue asked me "What sandwich can I get you as it's lunchtime?". Wow, what a great way to treat a salesman I thought. But it got better.
When I got to their offices I met Penny. Penny is one of those receptionists most of you would die for. She greeted me, showed me where the toilet was and on my return she asked me to "sign in". Then I was stunned again. "What drink would you like to go with your sandwich, tea, coffee or something cold". It was not the fact that she offered me a drink that stunned me, but the fact the she knew Sue had organised a sandwich for me.
Talk about having a "joined up organisation"!!!
