I did some social media training for a law firm yesterday and as part of the session I show how you can use Hootsuite to schedule Twitter messages.
My normal process is to schedule a message for 10 mins after the session will have finished saying something like "Just got a huge round of applause after a social media training session" which makes the audience giggle and is a bit of subliminal programming!
Anyway, yesterday some chirpy Solicitor at the front of the room piped up and said "What if we boo". So I changed the message to say "Losing my touch, just got booed by a law firm afer a social media training session!".
Then he said "Yeah, but I bet you won't send it. So, never being one to back down from a dare, I hit the send button.
So, my Twitter account is linked in to my LinkedIn account and the response was fab, here's what I got on Twitter :-
@conscioussol What! Actual real booing? Tell us more! Or just tell me more next time I see you in the Lion.
@conscioussol booed, seriously?
And here's what I got via LinkedIn :-
"Really? That's a pretty harsh response!"
"No way? What on earth did you say to them?!"
Needless to say I've now responded to each of them pointing them at this blog article.
So, Jennie, Helen, Isabel, Carol, Sharon & James, thanks for your concern, but no, I'm not losing my touch, in fact I got an extra especially large round of applause ;-)
