My good friend Ryan was right, I did take my eye off the ball – my line was slightly off and instead of achieving a lofted 200 yard drive, I’m brought back down to earth with a bump. I knew what I had to do from the outset. It was easy - swing the club, hit that ball and it would all fall into place. Simples! So why did that ball only travel 10 feet?
You see, getting help developing a good golf swing has parallels with getting help developing a decent marketing strategy. It looks all too easy to start with. You have seen other people do it, to a good standard and the results are there to see. Can it really be that difficult?
Sometimes it is far better to take a step back, take a fresh view at your objectives and to find someone who not only will teach you the basics, but to watch your technique & results improve. Quite often it won’t happen overnight, but you will see an improvement of such significance, that you wondered why you didn’t see the coach from the outset.
Furthermore, your golfing coach won’t swing the club for you. They will show you and teach you everything they know to make you into a great player. The more time you assign to listening to what they have to say and follow that with engaging questions, it will only improve your game.
The end result is that your own game will be to a better standard, you’ll get the results you’ve always wanted and your coach will always be there for advice and to make additional tweaks if needed along the way!
